I have spiked the honey syrup with thyme as I adore the marriage of fresh herbs and citrus. Banana coconut pie w/ walnut, date & sea salt crust (vegan & GF). On Paleo you can have your cake and eat it too, which is not something that usually comes with a diet program. It uses coconut cream, so you don’t have to worry about any dairy issues, and the natural sweetness of honey helps bring out the flavor the the strawberries. They’re made with things like maple syrup, coconut oil, and almond flour for the flour, so there won’t be any problems regarding what’s in them. It includes plenty of good things like strawberries, dates, and applesauce, while avoiding all-purpose flour and dairy.

Make date mixture with 10 medjool dates and 1 tablespoon maple syrup. The guests (most of them not Paleo) said it was among the best carrot cakes they had ever had. This is not your typical Date Walnut Bread, this is Paleo Date Walnut Bread. This bread is purely fruit sweetened, and has no honey, maple syrup, agave or other processed sweeteners. Familiar things like honey and maple syrup get dusted off and re-appreciated, but upon deeper digging, options like palm sugar, honey granules and date paste rear their sweet little heads. Maple syrup and honey are generally interchangeable and the same principles for substituting white sugar apply.
